NEW LOOK FASHION WEEK.

Hi guys! So I've had an exciting day, I went to my first blogging event! Muse TV & New Look got together and created an amazingly warm welcome for all bloggers from the wind and the rain that resided outside. Above is a small video I made summing up the New look fashion week event! Hope you enjoy!

It was the first day of LFW and in true London style the English weather was rain, the event was hosted at the grand location of Waldorf, Hilton, just round the corner from Somerset house. As the rain poured, Somerset house became an unbearable environment and the fashionista's rushed to shelter in this plush hotel! Inside we were greeted with nibbles, champagne, smoothies, manicures, eyelash/threading treatments, hand massages & much more! I was truly a great experience to be pampered, meet lovely bloggers and enjoy the environment. I had fun browsing New Look's A/W range, I made an origami tulip & shirt and also played in the photobooth with my fellow bloggers :)

On the way out we were gifted with goodie bags with some Elemis goodies, a new look A/W catalogue and some other little bits, all in all it was a pretty fantastic day!

How are you spending LFW?

DARKNESS.

So its been a long time coming.. as you have noticed me mention in various posts I've had a summer project! The project involved several photo shoots with different styling tasks this one involved the velvet waistcoat that my lovely model Laura is wearing. We were to take a hideous garment from a charity shop & alter & style it to look fashionable for a shoot styled for I-d. I cut the sleeves off, removes some god-awful sequins and hey presto! I hope I've styled it to look fashionable! I shot it Brighton beach, the sun even came out towards the end after a dreary day of rain. The look & inspiration I was going for was a dark and monochrome theme, so I felt all the photographs in black & white gave more of an edge. These are a few of my favourite shots, I just thought I'd share :)

What do you think?

Many thanks to the beautiful Laura, for being a great model & a true inspiration.

 LUCKY ME LOTTERY.

So last this week, like always has been busy! As you know I been enjoying my Scottish adventure with my parents (previous post). We enjoyed the Borders and Edinburgh in the sunshine and shopping was my favourite activity of course.. like I say you shall see them all in my haul post which I hoping to-do when I get back to Scotland! For the moment I'm back home for a week before heading to London for London fashion week and the New Look bloggers event I've been invited to this Friday! Which I'm very excited/nervous for!

This week It was also PAYDAY! One of my favourite days! I went on a shopping spree with my sisters and raided Topshop, Newlook & H&M. I love the colours and looks for this A/W monochrome, tartan and leather are all favourites of mine! I also received my copy of 'IT' by Alexa Chung! I'm a huge fan of her style and I cant wait to get into it on the journey up to Scotland! It features doodles, images and style tips from the Chung herself!

This week I was also shooting for my project for university! Another shoot down, I've completed the summer project now and I'm just preparing them for the printer! I was shooting in Brighton by the pier enjoying the sun and the sea, with a beautiful and talented model.. all shall be revealed soon!

And to end on a happy note.. Earlier in the week whilst in Gala a woman came upto me, tapped me on the shoulder and passed me a lottery ticket and wished me good luck! Unfortunately I didn't win anything but what a lovely gesture! Good people are out there! :)

Til next time..

REVIEW: BENEFIT BRIGHT FACIAL RANGE.

Good morning! This is another new post for me.. a review. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful! This kit is a little Benefit bargain, at the price of £12.50 it offers you 6 mini selections of the Bright Benefit range! I've been after a good skin care regime for a while as I tend to neglect my skin and this set has proven if you do the work you reap the benefits! (Excuse the pun).

There's 3 steps to beautiful skin.. 1- exfoliate/cleanse 2- tone 3- moisturise. This has been drummed into me through reading every beauty book, blog and website out there and now I see the importance. The difference this kit has made to my skin is very noticeable and I'm hoping as I use it further my pores will fade, bags will disappear and my face will be fresh and always revitalised.

So what do you get in the miracle kit you ask? Foamingly clean-facial wash, Refined finish-exfoliator, Moisture prep-toner, Triple performing-day moisturiser, Total moisture-night facial cream/moisturiser & finally It's Potent-eye cream.

You start off with the facial wash or exfoliator, I like to use the facial wash daily and then the exfoliator for a weekly deep clean, TIP- use circular motions when washing your face to get the blood circulating and use warm water to open your pores, cold water to close. You can also use the exfoliator as a face mask leaving it on for an extra five minutes, this gives you a really deep clean. after cleansing/exfoliating your face dab with a towel and prepare to tone!

Pour some of the toner onto cotton wool and smear over your face making sure you get in all the nooks & cranny's! This will leave your face feeling unbelievably clean and fresh. Then moisturising, now depending on the time of day I wear different moisturisers. Total Moisture is a much thicker and richer cream so I apply this at night when my skin is more in need, much like a night cream and then I use the Triple performing for day which is a great base for primer before foundation and leaves your skin silky smooth alllllll day :)

Finally just lightly dab some eye cream onto you eye area using your pinky, this being your lightest finger is the softest for applying eye cream. This is a delicate area so be gentle when applying. Its potent is one of Benefits famous creations and I must say I can see the difference the next day after applying plus it smells gorgeous!

Over all I think this kit is great for anyone trying to find a new regime, with a selection of six products it really lets you hand pick your skincare routine. I will be investing in the larger size bottles come Christmas, as some presents I'm sure! So for fresh and happy skin, give it a go!

Have you had a good/bad experience with Benefits Bright range? Let me know!

Hope you enjoyed my first review, tell me how I did & leave comments below!

So as you know the past week I've been in Scotland! Moving all my stuff from my old house to my new flat and whilst I was up there me and my parents had a thought.. why not make it into a road trip?

I live in Galashiels and attend Heriot Watt University, which is about an hour away from Edinburgh. We travelled all round the borders and visited Melrose, Kelso, Hawick, Selkirk, Jedburgh and Edinburgh. I love Scotland and this trip has made me fall in love with it that little bit more!

We visited Hawick museum, the Textile towerhouse, the Johnstons mill, Jedburgh Abbey & Edinburgh portrait gallery to name a few!  It was perfect weather (as you can see) and it really was a week full of great locations, amazing food & good company.

I also got some absolute bargains from Armstrong's vintage shop on the Grassmarket in Edinburgh, including a rabbit fur stole, a definite highlight of the week :) if you ever get the chance to visit do!! You can see my haul of August in an upcoming post.. keep your eyes peeled!

It was an amazing week, back home now after a very longgggg drive just for a week until Uni starts! All images are from my instagram @islay101

MY WEEK #5

FLYING HIGH | SHOOTIN' | MOVIE NIGHT | JEDBURGH ABBEY | TIE- DYE | MELROSE | LUCKY CHARM MILKSHAKE AT JB'S BRIGHTON | GOODBYE SCHUH |
CHOCCY WOCCY DOO-DAH.

Happy September! So this week has been a busy one to say the least.. I've been trying to make the most of being at home. Me and my sister Katie, went across the beach to fly her kite and make the most of the windy weather we've been having!

In other news I've been shooting a lot lately for a university project, so here's a sneak peek at one of them.. a post with all images is coming soon :) I worked with a beautiful model, who didn't let the wind and the rain of England ruin the shoot! True professional!

Me and the boyfriend had several different date nights, my favourite kind of night :) We went to see We're the Millers, hilarious. If you get the chance to watch it, do. Its a great film. We also visited JB's diner, an American diner on Brighton seafront, I've never actually eaten there before just played pool and drunk Coca-Cola, but we ordered a massive feast and it was unreal! A Lucky Charm milkshake as a dessert isn't bad at all!

But it isn't all fun & games I moved back up to Scotland this week it was alot of stress but on a brighter note my parents and I have been touring the Scottish borders, yesterday we visited Jedburgh, Melrose and Newton! I never realised the beautiful area I lived in! Were off to visit Hawick tomorrow. A right Scottish adventure.

Apart from that, I've been Tie-dying (previous posts) and browsing around Choccy Woccy doo-dah the chocolate shop in Brighton, with literally anything you can think of made into a edible chocolate dream! I also left Schuh, Brighton this week :( but never fear I'm returning for Christmas! YAY!

So like I say, a busy week indeed! How have you spent your week?
